Three myths we often hear

Myth 1
“Omega-3 with DHA only comes from fish.”
Fact: Fish obtain DHA and EPA from algae. Omega-3 Vegan uses algal oil directly and provides 500 mg of DHA and 250 mg of EPA per daily dose, with no fish at all.
Myth 2
“With magnesium, more is better.”
Fact: EFSA sets 250 mg a day as the upper limit for magnesium from food supplements. Magnesium 7 Complex provides 251 mg, Basis X another 81 mg. If you combine products, add up the amounts.
Myth 3
“A multivitamin replaces vegetables.”
Fact: Basis X provides vitamins and minerals in fixed amounts, but no fibre and not the variety of a full plate. Food supplements complement a varied diet; they do not replace it.

Good to know

✓
Magnesium: do not double up
Magnesium 7 Complex and OptioVires Magnesium are two different routes to the same mineral. Take one of them, not both together. Above 250 mg a day, some people may experience loose stools.
✓
Vitamin D: add up the amounts
One drop of D3 & K2 contains 25 µg of vitamin D, and Basis X provides 20 µg. Together that is 45 µg a day. EFSA sets 100 µg as the upper limit for adults, so count any other vitamin D products too.
✓
Vitamin K and anticoagulants
The D3 & K2 drops and capsules contain vitamin K2. If you take coumarin-type anticoagulants, please note the information on the pack.
✓
Allergen: fish
The omega-3 capsules contain fish oil and a fish gelatine shell. The Omega-3 Vegan algal oil capsules are fish-free and vegan.
