Question about item
When bones need more than just calcium
OssaLex combines calcium from hydroxyapatite and sango sea coral with vitamin D, vitamin K2 (K2VITAL®) and bamboo shoot extract — an Austrian brand, manufactured to GMP standards.
From the fourth decade of life onwards, bone metabolism begins to change. Anyone who thinks only of calcium at this stage is missing half the story. Bones are a living tissue of minerals, protein and trace elements. Calcium is the most prominent building block — the supply of additional micronutrients plays an equally important role.
This is exactly where the formula comes in. Microcrystalline hydroxyapatite from bovine bone supplies calcium and phosphorus in the same crystalline form found in human bone tissue. Sango sea coral powder adds further calcium from a marine source. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, and vitamin K2 as MK-7 contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
The combination is rounded off by two botanical components: bamboo shoot extract with a high natural content of silicon dioxide, and flaxseed oil powder containing alpha-linolenic acid. The vitamin K2 raw material K2VITAL® comes from the Balchem Corporation — a US specialty supplier whose MK-7 is known for stability and defined purity. Production takes place in Austria according to GMP guidelines.
Take 1 capsule three times a day, unchewed, with sufficient water.

What is microcrystalline hydroxyapatite?
Hydroxyapatite is the crystalline calcium-phosphate compound that forms around 70 % of the mineral substance of human bone. The microcrystalline hydroxyapatite used here is derived from bovine bone and delivers both minerals in their natural crystalline form — together with trace minerals from the bone matrix. For this reason, OssaLex is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

💬 Frequently asked questions
-
Who is OssaLex suitable for?+OssaLex is a food supplement for adults who want to specifically complement their calcium and vitamin D intake. Because of the hydroxyapatite derived from bovine bone, the product is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
-
Can I take OssaLex while on blood thinners?+Anyone taking anticoagulant medication (e.g. vitamin K antagonists) should only use this product in consultation with their treating doctor. The background is the vitamin K content: vitamin K contributes to normal blood coagulation and can therefore affect the effect of these medications.
-
How does this differ from a pure calcium supplement?+Pure calcium supplements usually contain calcium carbonate or citrate. OssaLex combines calcium from hydroxyapatite and sango sea coral with vitamin D, vitamin K2 and phosphorus, as well as bamboo shoot extract, boric acid and flaxseed oil powder.
-
How long does one bottle last?+At the recommended daily dose of 3 capsules, one bottle of 90 capsules lasts 30 days.
-
What is K2VITAL®?+K2VITAL® is a registered trademark of the Balchem Corporation and refers to a specific form of menaquinone (vitamin K2 as MK-7). The mark is registered in the USA, the EU and other countries.
-
When during the day should I take OssaLex?+The recommendation is 3 capsules per day, ideally spread across the day — for example, one with each main meal. Vitamin D and K2 are fat-soluble and are better absorbed in combination with a meal containing fat.
