Minerals counteract acidification
A balanced acid base balance is fundamental basis for health and well-being. Imbalanced nutrition, constant stress, lack of sleep, body-damaging substances (toxins, alcohol, nicotine), duration medications and certain diseases (such as diabetes) charge this balance by metabolic acidosis of connective tissue. Food forming bases are mainly potatoes, vegetables, salad, fruit and herbal teas. Acid forming food (sugar, white flour, pasta, meat, sausage, milk and dairy products) are usually too often consumed. A ratio of 80% bases and 20% acid would correspond to the distribution in about in the connective tissue of a small child. In adults, the ratio is often exactly reversed! The minerals include sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride and phosphorus.
