Question about item
All 8 essential B vitamins – including bioactive coenzyme forms, in a single daily capsule
Getting all eight B vitamins in their active coenzyme forms usually means a handful of separate supplements. The Optiolex B-Complex XVII brings them together in one capsule – including Riboflavin-5-Phosphate, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate, methylcobalamin and (6S)-5-MTHF, the directly usable form of folate that requires no conversion by the MTHFR enzyme.
One capsule per day covers a 6-month supply, combining both the standard precursor forms and their ready-to-use coenzyme counterparts – all clearly declared as separate compounds.
B vitamins are water-soluble micronutrients that act as co-enzymes in some of the body's most fundamental metabolic processes – carbohydrate, fat, protein and nerve metabolism. Because they are water-soluble, the body does not store them; they need to be replenished regularly through food or supplementation.
The Optiolex B-Complex XVII pairs each classic vitamin form (such as thiamine hydrochloride and pyridoxine hydrochloride) with its corresponding active coenzyme variant in a single formula. Riboflavin-5-Phosphate (R5P) is the active coenzyme form of vitamin B2; Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) is the active coenzyme form of vitamin B6. The formula also includes (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid (5-MTHF) as a glucosamine salt – the metabolically ready form of folate that does not require prior conversion by the MTHFR enzyme. Methylcobalamin is the bioactive, methylated form of vitamin B12.
1 capsule daily with plenty of water.
Pack size: 180 capsules (6-month supply).
Each serving contains, among others: 100 mg vitamin B1 · 15 mg vitamin B6 + 8 mg P5P · 400 mcg methylcobalamin · 400 mcg 5-MTHF · 400 mcg biotin.
💡 Tip: Take in the morning with breakfast to reduce the chance of stomach sensitivity on an empty stomach.

What are bioactive B vitamins and how do they differ from standard forms?
Many B vitamins are found in food – and in conventional supplements – as precursor forms that the body first needs to convert into their active coenzyme variants through enzymatic steps. For example, the body converts riboflavin into Riboflavin-5-Phosphate (R5P) using the enzyme flavokinase. The Optiolex B-Complex XVII contains both the standard precursor form and the finished coenzyme variant side by side, each declared as a separate compound.
What is inositol and why is it included in this B-complex?
Inositol – included here as inositol hexanicotinate, a compound of niacin and inositol – is a cyclic alcohol structurally related to the B vitamin family, historically referred to as "vitamin B8". It is a component of cell membranes and is involved in intracellular signal transduction. Inositol hexanicotinate is considered a more stomach-friendly niacin form, as it releases niacin more gradually than free nicotinamide.
Notices & storage
Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced diet and the recommended daily dose should not be exceeded. A varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important. Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and out of the reach of young children. Protect from heat. Reseal tightly after use.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding: the formula contains 400 mcg 5-MTHF (active folate) per daily serving – consistent with standard folate supplementation recommendations in pregnancy. Individual medical advice is recommended.
-
The Optiolex B-Complex XVII combines classic precursor forms (e.g. riboflavin, pyridoxine) with their corresponding active coenzyme variants (Riboflavin-5-Phosphate, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate). Both forms are included as separate compounds and are declared individually on the label.
-
Standard folic acid (pteroylmonoglutamic acid) must first be converted in the body into its active form (5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid, 5-MTHF) by the enzyme MTHFR. This formula supplies (6S)-5-MTHF directly as a glucosamine salt – the metabolically ready form that requires no prior enzymatic conversion. Folate contributes to normal blood formation and normal psychological function.
-
B vitamins are obtained through food, but intake can be lower during certain life stages or when following a restricted diet – for example in those who avoid animal products, or during periods of increased demand such as stress or physical training. For individual supplementation advice, please consult a healthcare professional.
-
Yes. The capsule shell is made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) – a plant-derived material containing no animal-derived ingredients, suitable for vegan and vegetarian lifestyles.
-
Combining this product with other supplements is generally possible, but the total daily intake of each B vitamin should be taken into account. If you are taking blood-thinning medication (e.g. warfarin, aspirin, heparin), please consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
