Description

Two forms of every B vitamin in one capsule – the complete coenzyme B-complex

B vitamins don't work in the form they're swallowed – they need to be converted into their active coenzyme counterparts before the body can use them. The Optiolex B-Complex XVII skips that step by supplying both: the standard precursor form and the ready-to-use coenzyme variant, side by side, each declared as a separate compound on the label.

The 60-capsule pack is a two-month supply – a practical size for trying the formula or keeping at a second location. One capsule a day, all eight essential B vitamins plus inositol, nothing else.

Energy metabolism B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 & B12 contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism
🧬 Homocysteine metabolism B6, folate (B9) & B12 contribute to normal homocysteine metabolism
🧠 Psychological function B6, folate (B9) & B12 contribute to normal psychological function
💪 Reduces tiredness B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 & B12 contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
🔴 Blood formation Folate (B9) & vitamin B12 contribute to normal blood formation
⚗️ Two forms per vitamin Precursor + active coenzyme form together – each declared separately

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) becomes metabolically active as flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) – two coenzyme forms produced from riboflavin through enzymatic phosphorylation. This formula includes Riboflavin-5-Phosphate (R5P) directly, the phosphorylated form ready for use in the cell. The same principle applies to Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P), the active coenzyme form of vitamin B6, which bypasses the conversion step from pyridoxine.

Vitamin B12 is supplied as methylcobalamin – the methylated, cofactor-active form that functions directly as a coenzyme for methionine synthase, a key enzyme in folate and homocysteine metabolism. Vitamin B12 contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism and normal psychological function. The formula also includes (6S)-5-MTHF as a glucosamine salt, the metabolically ready form of folate, alongside inositol hexanicotinate – a compound of niacin and inositol that releases niacin more gradually than free nicotinamide.

Recommended intake

1 capsule daily with plenty of water.
Pack size: 60 capsules (2-month supply).
Each serving contains, among others: 100 mg vitamin B1 · 15 mg vitamin B6 + 8 mg P5P · 400 mcg methylcobalamin · 400 mcg 5-MTHF · 400 mcg biotin · 100 mg B5 · 100 mg B3 + 10 mg inositol hexanicotinate.

💡 Tip: B vitamins are water-soluble and not stored by the body – taking one capsule at the same time each day helps maintain a consistent daily intake.

Quality & Origin
60 caps – 2-month supply Amber glass bottle Just 1 capsule a day

What is the difference between riboflavin and Riboflavin-5-Phosphate?

Riboflavin is the transport form of vitamin B2 – absorbed from food and carried into cells, where the enzyme flavokinase converts it into Riboflavin-5-Phosphate (FMN), the first active coenzyme form. FMN is then partially converted further into flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD). Both FMN and FAD are involved in a wide range of redox reactions central to energy metabolism. Vitamin B2 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Why is methylcobalamin used instead of cyanocobalamin?

Vitamin B12 exists in several forms. Cyanocobalamin is the most synthetically stable but must first be de-cyanated and methylated in the body before it can function as a cofactor. Methylcobalamin is already in its methylated form and acts directly as a coenzyme for methionine synthase – a key enzyme in folate and homocysteine metabolism. Vitamin B12 contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism and normal psychological function.

Notices & storage

Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced diet and the recommended daily dose should not be exceeded. A varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important. Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and out of the reach of young children. Protect from heat. Reseal tightly after use.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding: this formula contains 400 mcg 5-MTHF (active folate) per daily serving, consistent with standard folate supplementation recommendations in pregnancy. Individual medical advice is recommended.

  • NRV stands for Nutrient Reference Value, as defined by EU Regulation No 1169/2011. These reference values represent the average daily requirement of an adult and are used as a benchmark for nutritional labelling. B vitamins are water-soluble and not stored in the body – excess amounts are excreted in urine rather than accumulating in tissue, which is why food supplements often contain amounts well above 100% NRV.

  • No. According to the ingredient list, the Optiolex B-Complex XVII contains no magnesium stearate, fillers or flow agents. The capsule shell is made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), a plant-derived material free from animal-derived ingredients.

  • Free nicotinic acid (standard niacin) can cause a temporary skin flushing sensation at higher amounts. Inositol hexanicotinate is a compound of six niacin molecules bound to one inositol molecule, which releases niacin more gradually. Nicotinamide – also present in this formula – is the amide form of niacin and is considered flush-free. Niacin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.

  • Yes. All ingredients are free from animal-derived components. The capsule shell is made from plant-based HPMC, and the product carries a vegan label on the packaging. The methylcobalamin (vitamin B12) used is produced biotechnologically, not from animal sources.

  • Both packs contain exactly the same formula and serving size – one capsule daily with identical ingredient amounts. The 60-capsule pack provides a 2-month supply and is a convenient size for travelling or trying the product for the first time. The 180-capsule version offers a 6-month supply in a larger amber glass bottle.
