Description

Aloe vera the way Paracelsus thought of it — as an alchemical essence

Espara Aloe Vera Alchemical Essence is a distillate made from 100% aloe vera, produced using a method that goes back to physician and alchemist Paracelsus. 30 ml in dropper form — vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free.

🌿
100% aloe vera distillate
A single ingredient. Pure distillate of a plant valued in traditional herbalism for more than 3,700 years.
🏆
Alchemical method after Paracelsus
Several separation and recombination steps bring the plant's body, spirit and soul back together in the traditional way.
💧
Drops, not litres of juice
30 ml gives roughly 530 drops. Easy to dose — under the tongue or into a glass of water.
🌱
Vegan, gluten- and lactose-free
From plants grown wild or organically. Free from additives, acidity regulators and preservatives.

Most people know aloe vera — as cool gel on irritated skin, or as green juice in the fridge aisle. What fewer know: the plant has accompanied humans for more than 3,700 years. Sumerian clay tablets from 1750 BC mention it, Dioscorides described it in the first century, and medieval European monastery traditions used it just as Ayurvedic tradition in India still does today.

Espara takes a different route from the standard juice press. Fresh aloe vera leaves are combined with yeast and water, fermented and distilled in multiple steps. The method comes from alchemy — a discipline that Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, known as Paracelsus, explicitly understood in the 16th century as a way of producing effective plant preparations. Gold-making was never his concern.

Paracelsus lived for a time in Salzburg and died there in 1541. The alchemical tradition this essence draws on follows his inherited principles. Anyone who wants to experience aloe vera with this depth, rather than as pasteurised juice, has a genuine alternative rooted in European herbal tradition.

What are alchemical essences in the tradition of Paracelsus?

Paracelsus (1493–1541) understood alchemy not as gold-making, but as a method to prepare effective plant preparations. His idea: a plant has — in his words — a body, a spirit and a soul. These three components are separated during preparation, processed individually, and then brought back together. The result is an aromatic, alcohol-based liquid which, in the Paracelsus tradition, addresses the person as a whole. If the background interests you, our long-read covers it in detail: Preparation and use of Essences.

Why drops — and not a litre of juice?

Many commercial aloe vera juices are pasteurised and contain acidity regulators or preservatives. An alchemical distillate is concentrated, keeps almost indefinitely, and only needs a few drops per use. A 30-ml bottle lasts roughly 17 days at the recommended intake. The traditional approach is a course of at least 3 weeks, often around 6 weeks.

⚠️ Mandatory information: Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced diet, and the recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. 💬 Frequently asked questions

  • How do I take the aloe vera essence?+
15 drops twice a day before meals — either directly under the tongue or with a little water. The alchemical tradition recommends avoiding a metal spoon — glass, ceramic or wood is the customary choice.
  • How long can I take the essence?+
Alchemical essences are traditionally taken as a course of about 6 weeks, with a minimum of 3 weeks — long enough for the traditional approach to unfold over time. For longer-term use, or if you have chronic complaints, an existing condition or take ongoing medication, please consult your doctor.
  • The essence contains alcohol — who should avoid it?+
The essence has 16% vol alcohol — produced during the alchemical fermentation and distillation process. It is therefore not suitable for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or anyone who needs to avoid alcohol. People with a history of alcohol dependency should also avoid it, as even small amounts can trigger relapse.
  • How is the Espara essence different from regular aloe vera juice?+
Many aloe vera juices are pressed from the leaf gel, pasteurised, and often mixed with acidity regulators, preservatives or sweeteners. The Espara essence is made from a single ingredient: aloe vera distillate. Production follows the alchemical method with fermentation, multi-step distillation and recombination — not the logic of fast mass production.
  • Can I combine the essence with other supplements?+
As a rule, yes. If you'd like to extend into the immune-system area, Espara Immune-strong capsules are a fitting addition. For a broader herbal base, the Espara Planta Vida Herbal Elixir is worth a look. If you have pre-existing conditions, are pregnant, or take long-term medication, please seek medical advice first.
  • Who was Paracelsus — and why does he matter for this essence?+
Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, known as Paracelsus (1493–1541), was a physician, alchemist and natural philosopher. He lived for a time in Salzburg and died there in 1541. His view of healing was holistic — body, spirit and soul as one. The alchemical tradition this essence draws on follows his inherited principles.
