The mineral structures of bone tissue have mainly support functions. While it renews these mineral structure constantly by permanent calcification processes.  Vitamin D3 contributes to a normal recording/utilization of calcium and phosphorus. Together with manganese, zinc, magnesium and vitamin K, it contributes to the maintenance of normal bone. Our bones contain but also elastic components (collagens). These are especially strong mechanical strain relief. In particular vitamin C contributes to a normal collagen formation for normal function of cartilage and bone. The extent of bone mineralization is among other things substantially dependent on a balanced acids/bases potassium.
