What does "essential" mean for amino acids?+
The body builds its proteins from around 20 amino acids. It can make some of them itself; the others must come from food and are called essential. Classically there are eight, all contained in LexEssentialis 8. Histidine is often counted as a ninth today but is not included here.

How is this different from BCAA capsules?+
BCAA products contain only leucine, valine and isoleucine. LexEssentialis 8 has these three (2,232 mg) plus the other five essential amino acids.

I already take Optiolex L-Tryptophan. Can I combine them?+
