Description

What if your toothpaste tasted of clove, peppermint and eucalyptus instead of sweets?

Kräuterhaus Ginseng Toothpaste is a fluoride toothpaste built around Panax ginseng root extract, allantoin and nine essential oils. It cleans the way a standard toothpaste does, but tastes like a herb garden rather than a chewing gum.

💧
Nine essential oils carry the taste
Spearmint, cornmint, peppermint, clove, eucalyptus, lavender, coriander, sweet fennel and wintergreen. The taste is warm and spicy up front, cool at the finish, and stays around long after brushing.
⚗️
1450 ppm fluoride from sodium monofluorophosphate
Full adult-strength fluoride. It hardens tooth enamel and helps protect against caries. Suitable for adults and children from the age of 6.
🌿
Ginseng root extract with allantoin for the gums
Panax Ginseng Root Extract sits ninth in the INCI list, right after the fluoride. Together with allantoin it cares for the gums while you brush.
💎
Foams with sodium lauryl sulfoacetate
The foaming agent is sodium lauryl sulfoacetate. Despite the similar name, it is a different compound from sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). You will find the exact name in the INCI list below.

Supermarket toothpaste tends to taste the same everywhere: sweet, mentholated and gone in a minute. If you have ever borrowed a herbal toothpaste on holiday and wondered why yours at home feels so flat afterwards, this tube is the answer to that question.

Underneath the flavour it is a conventional, well-made fluoride paste. Dicalcium phosphate dihydrate and silica do the polishing, glycerin and propylene glycol keep it smooth, xanthan gum holds it together. Nothing exotic, which is exactly why it works with any brush and any routine.

Kräuterhaus has three herbal fluoride toothpastes in the Viterna range, all on the same base. The Propolis version relies on the bee product and contains arnica, the Aloe Vera version is built around 45 % aloe vera. Ginseng is the choice for anyone who wants the strongest herbal taste and no bee-derived ingredients.

Why is 1450 ppm the usual fluoride level for adults?

EU cosmetics law caps fluoride in toothpaste at 1500 ppm, and most adult pastes in Europe sit just below that at 1450 ppm. That is the level dental associations recommend from the age of six. Toothpastes for younger children use less, which is why this tube carries the age note. The fluoride here comes from sodium monofluorophosphate, one of the two standard fluoride sources alongside sodium fluoride.

⚠️ Mandatory information: Contains sodium monofluorophosphate (1450 ppm) for caries prevention · For adults and children from the age of 6.

💬 Frequently asked questions

  • Is it very strong or "medicinal" in taste?+
It is strong, yes, but in a herbal rather than a clinical way. Clove and peppermint lead, eucalyptus and wintergreen add a cool edge. Most people adjust within a few days and then find ordinary mint pastes rather bland.
  • Does it contain any bee products or arnica?+
No. Propolis and arnica are in the Kräuterhaus Propolis Toothpaste, not in this one. The Ginseng version is the option if you react to bee products or to plants of the daisy family.
  • Can my children use it?+
From the age of 6, because of the adult fluoride level. Younger children should use a children's toothpaste with a lower fluoride content.
  • Is it vegan?+
The ingredient list shows no animal-derived raw materials and no bee products. The manufacturer does not label it as vegan, so we do not either. If the origin of a specific ingredient such as glycerin matters to you, our customer service can check with Kräuterhaus.
  • What does ginseng actually do in a toothpaste?+
Here it is a plant-based care ingredient for the gums, used alongside allantoin. The root of Panax ginseng has been dried and extracted in East Asia for centuries; its best-known constituents are the ginsenosides. No effect beyond cosmetic care is claimed for this toothpaste.
