Description

Your skin likes it simple — pure oil from evening primrose seeds

Evening Primrose Skin Oil by Kräuterhaus Sanct Bernhard strips skin care back to the essentials — one single natural oil, thinly applied.

🌼
Rich in gamma-linolenic acid
Oil from evening primrose seeds — with a naturally high share of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA).
💧
Regulates the skin's moisture balance
Rich care for dry, cracked skin.
🪞
Reduces the risk of premature wrinkle formation
Regular care improves skin appearance — especially where the skin is thin.
🛡️
Cares for and protects sensitive skin
Rich care that manages without any further additives.

It is always the visible areas that complain first: your forehead feels tight after washing, fine dry lines appear on the décolleté. And the skin around the eyes forgives hardly any rich cream. Anyone with sensitive skin knows the dilemma — the longer the ingredient list, the harder it is to work out what your skin objects to.

A pure plant oil takes a different route. It settles on the skin as a fine film and slows moisture loss — care and protection in one step. The oil is pressed from the seeds of the evening primrose (Oenothera biennis), whose yellow flowers only open towards evening. Hence the name.

Behind this pared-back approach stands Kräuterhaus Sanct Bernhard from Bad Ditzenbach, the specialist for natural remedies and cosmetics — serving health for well over a century. The amber glass bottle also shields the oil from light.

What makes gamma-linolenic acid special in skin care?

Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid. It is rare in the plant world — most culinary and cosmetic oils contain practically none. Evening primrose oil, alongside borage seed oil, is one of the few exceptions. That is why GLA-rich oils have traditionally been used in cosmetics to care for dry and sensitive skin.

💬 Frequently asked questions

  • Which skin is Evening Primrose Skin Oil suited to?+
Dry, cracked skin looking for rich care — and sensitive skin that is wary of long ingredient lists. Here, exactly one ingredient touches your skin.
  • Can I use the oil around my eyes?+
Yes. It is expressly intended for the thin, delicate skin around the eyes as well. Apply it especially thinly there and massage in only lightly.
  • How much oil do I need per application?+
A few drops are enough. Applied thinly, the oil spreads well — and the bottle lasts accordingly.
  • How does it differ from evening primrose oil capsules?+
Capsules are food supplements to be taken orally. This skin oil is a cosmetic for external use — it delivers the oil exactly where you want it: onto your skin.
  • Is the oil fragranced?+
No. The INCI list holds a single entry — no fragrances, colourants or preservatives. All you notice is the oil's natural scent.
