Question about item
Try a month of algae protein – before committing to a stockpile
Hawaiian Spirulina in starter size – 100 g of microalgae, pressed into 250 tablets of 400 mg. Lasts around four weeks.
Algae tablets feel like a leap of faith at first. If you've never taken spirulina, you want real answers: How does it taste? How does my body react? Can I actually keep this up daily? You only know after a few weeks of trying.
That's what the 250-pack is for. 100 g of pure spirulina, pressed into 250 tablets of 400 mg. At the full daily dose, that lasts about a month. Long enough to settle into a routine. Short enough not to leave you with half a year's worth in the cupboard if it doesn't suit you.
Spirulina Pacifica comes from algae farms on Hawaii's west coast, where the microalga has been cultivated since the 1980s. The patented Ocean-Thrill process dries it without heat and without oxygen. The tablets are then cold-pressed directly on the farm – no industrial extra step, no binders.
Take 8 tablets (3.2 g) daily with plenty of liquid.

What sets spirulina apart from conventional nutrient sources?
Spirulina is a microalga – not a vegetable, not a grain, not an animal product. Its dry mass is roughly two thirds protein. Legumes usually don't reach that, and animal protein brings fat and cholesterol along. Spirulina delivers the protein concentrated and low in calories.
What does spirulina taste like – and do you get used to it?
Spirulina has a distinctive flavour: slightly algal, with an earthy note. In tablet form, you barely notice it when swallowing – only biting one releases the flavour. Most people get used to it within a few days. If it really doesn't sit well, smoothie additions or spirulina drops are an alternative way to try it.
⚠️ Mandatory notice: Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose (8 tablets). Keep out of reach of small children.
📦 Storage: Store in a dry place and not above room temperature.
💬 Frequently asked questions
-
What do I taste when I swallow the tablets?+Little to nothing, as long as you don't chew the tablets. The algal coating only dissolves after swallowing. If you taste the aroma on a burp, take the tablets with a meal – that reliably covers it.
-
How do I work up to the full daily dose?+In the first few days, three to four tablets daily is enough to start. If your stomach handles it well and you've accepted the taste, slowly work up to eight – split across two or three portions a day.
-
Can I take spirulina alongside other supplements?+As a rule, yes. Spirulina is a food and doesn't clash with vitamin or mineral preparations. If you take prescription medication regularly, it's worth checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.
-
Which pack size suits me if I'm just starting?+The 250-pack – this product – is the smallest size and lasts a month. If spirulina becomes part of your routine after that month, you can move on to the 625-pack (250 g, around 78 days) or the 1,250 refill pack (500 g, around 156 days). The latter is the most economical per gram.
-
Are algae tablets suitable for vegetarians and vegans?+Yes. Spirulina is a microalga – no animal-derived parts in the ingredient. The processing also uses nothing animal-based – spray-drying and cold-pressing are purely mechanical.
-
Do I have to take the tablets every day?+No – spirulina is a food, not a medicine. Regular intake over several weeks makes sense if you want to top up your protein intake steadily. If you skip a few days, nothing happens – simply continue afterwards.
