Robert Franz dietary supplement with amino acid L-tryptophan. 500mg per capsule.
Tryptophan was discovered 1901. It is a precursor of acid (also niacin: vitamin B3). Vitamin B3 is essential for the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
L-Tryptophan is one of the aromatic, essential amino acids and comes in significant quantities e.g. in meat, anchovies, eggs, dairy products, legumes and nuts. The daily need for L-tryptophan is difficult to cover by plant foods. In addition, there are factors such as a high cortisol, stress or inflammatory processes that promote the removal of L-tryptophan to kynurenine. Therefore, sufficient l-tryptophan must be supplied to counteract a serotonin or melatonin deficiency. L-Tryptophan is also an indispensable substance in the zinc metabolism.
