Question about item
Designed for a protest march in 1958, recognised everywhere today
The peace sign is pressed into the green leather of this notebook, with 200 blank pages behind it for lyrics, quotes and travel notes.
British designer Gerald Holtom drew the symbol in 1958 for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. It combines the semaphore signals for N and D, and by the 1960s it had become a worldwide sign for peace.
This notebook is handmade in India. Its pages are unlined, so words, sketches and pasted-in tickets can share the same spread.
Keep dry and out of prolonged direct sunlight or strong heat. Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
