Cleansing (original name: Reinigung) is a spicy, refreshing incense blend from Indigo's “Know Yourself” series. With only six ingredients, it is Indigo's classic for regular burning at home.

Indigo describes Cleansing as an all-rounder: clarifying, harmonising and stimulating at the same time. For particularly thorough clearing, Indigo recommends Jenuri.
The flat is cleaned regularly, the laundry washed. And yet there are days when a room feels heavy, after an argument, visitors or simply a long week.
At Indigo, Cleansing is the classic blend for such moments. Walk anticlockwise through the room and spread the smoke with a feather or fan so that it drifts visibly into the corners. Then air the room thoroughly. The short ritual also works well as a transition between work and leisure.
With only six ingredients, including sage, cardamom and myrrh, Cleansing is a clear, simple recipe. It is blended by hand in Vienna, as Indigo has done since 1991.
📋 How to use
Hold the incense charcoal with tongs over a flame to light it and place it on shell sand in a fireproof vessel. Let it glow for about 15 minutes until it is covered with white ash. Then add 1 to 2 pinches with an incense spoon. Enjoy the scent as if smelling a flower, do not inhale it. If it starts to smell burnt, lift the remains off with the spoon and smother them in the sand.
