Anyone who has been inside an Orthodox church knows this scent: frankincense that smells not only balsamic but also floral. Rose frankincense brings this atmosphere home.
On Mount Athos ground frankincense (Boswellia sacra) is mixed with rose essence and pressed into small cushions. The white powder on them is talc. It serves as a separating agent and is neutral and odourless.
Because the scent is so intense, a few cushions are enough. Indigo recommends rose frankincense for a loving, festive atmosphere and fills it in 25 g jars.
📋 How to use
Hold the incense charcoal with tongs over a flame to light it and place it on shell sand in a fireproof vessel. Let it glow for about 15 minutes until it is covered with white ash. Then add one or two cushions with an incense spoon. Enjoy the scent as if smelling a flower, do not inhale it. If it starts to smell burnt, lift the remains off with the spoon and smother them in the sand.
