Description

Spermidine, NMN, fisetin: what lies behind the names from ageing research?

📋 German edition only

This book is only available in German. There is no English edition. The English text on this page is a translation of our German product description.

On 1,000 pages, Volume 4 of the Codex Humanus presents around 35 further natural substances, with a clear focus: biological ageing. Thomas Chrobok combines current research with plants from Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine and folk medicine.

From a certain age, new terms suddenly appear in conversations and magazines: NAD+, spermidine, senolytics. Some of it sounds like the laboratory, some like marketing. Anyone who wants to understand what lies behind these substances and where they come from rarely finds a source that brings everything together in one place.

This is exactly the gap Volume 4 aims to fill. It starts with a section on the "eight building blocks of food supplementation" and a self-experiment by the author. This is followed by tables on 19 subject areas showing which active substances the author assigns to which topic. The main part consists of detailed chapters on individual natural substances, from root extract to fermented soya enzyme.

According to the author, he spent four years collecting studies and expert statements for this volume. As in Volumes 1 to 3, he writes in a pointed style and is clearly critical of conventional medicine. The publisher points out that many statements on effectiveness rely on studies that are not officially regarded as evidence-based. The book is therefore a collection of knowledge to think further about, not treatment instructions.

Do I need Volumes 1 to 3 as well?

No. Volume 4 covers different natural substances from the first three volumes and is also sold on its own by the publisher. If you already own Volumes 1 to 3, it completes the series. If you are new to it, you get an impression of the structure and style of the Codex. The foundation chapters on orthomolecular substances, however, are in Volume 1.

⚠️ Please note: The contents of this book are for information and general education. They do not replace advice, diagnosis or treatment by a doctor or pharmacist. Many statements on effectiveness in the book are based on studies and experience that are not officially recognised as evidence-based. The book is available in German only.
