Question about item
The taurine from the energy drink, without the energy drink
nutri+ Taurine Powder is a single ingredient in a 1 kg pouch. One level scoop a day, stirred into water or juice, and nothing else comes with it: no sugar, no caffeine, no sweeteners.
Most people first meet taurine on the side of a can. There it always arrives with company: sugar or sweeteners, caffeine, fizz and flavourings. If all you want is the taurine, a can is a roundabout way to get it.
A powder keeps things simple. The ingredient list reads "100 % taurine" and stops there, with no flavouring, colouring or anti-caking agent. It has no taste of its own and dissolves in water or juice, so it slips into your morning glass or your training bottle without changing anything. Your body makes some taurine too, from the amino acids cysteine and methionine; the powder adds a fixed 2.5 g a day.
nutri+ is the brand of Nutrition-Plus Germany, based in Grafschaft in the Rhineland, and is also behind the creatine and vegan protein powders at Viterna. One kilo holds 400 daily servings, which lasts well over a year.
Take 1 level scoop of powder (2.5 g) dissolved in water or juice daily.

💬 Frequently asked questions
-
Does it taste of anything?+No, it is unflavoured. Stir it into water or juice, or add it to your bottle together with a powder you already use, such as creatine.
-
Is taurine an amino acid?+Strictly speaking, it is an amino sulfonic acid. It carries a sulphur-containing sulfonic acid group instead of the carboxyl group of amino acids, so the body does not build it into protein. It occurs freely dissolved in cells and tissues. In sports nutrition it is usually listed with the amino acids anyway.
-
The name means "bull". Is it of animal origin?+No. The name comes from the Latin "taurus" because taurine was first isolated from ox bile in 1827. The taurine in this powder is vegan.
-
Why does the pouch look only partly full?+The filling level is due to technical reasons. After filling, air escapes, causing the powder to lose volume. The weight is unchanged at 1000 g.
