Description

Bread, rice, pasta, oats – and this one protein building block still runs short

nutri+ Amino Acid L-Lysine delivers that building block as a plain capsule product – no powder to stir, no additives.

🧬
Essential means: food only
Lysine is one of the eight amino acids the body cannot make itself. It depends on what arrives on the plate each day.
💎
Two ingredients – that is the whole list
L-lysine hydrochloride and a cellulose capsule shell. No fillers, no colourings, no flavourings.
🌿
Vegan, free from gluten, soy and lactose
The shell is made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose rather than gelatine – plant-based from the filling to the casing.
🔬
Produced to IFS Food and GMP standards
The formula was developed in Germany by nutrition scientists, and every batch is laboratory tested.

Anyone eating mostly plants knows the pattern: oats in the morning, bread at lunch, pasta or rice in the evening. Protein is plentiful in that picture – yet one amino acid stays tight. Cereals are naturally low in lysine, and this particular building block helps decide how well the body can actually use the protein it takes in. Pulses even the balance out, provided they turn up regularly.

Lysine is one of the eight essential amino acids. The body incorporates it into its own proteins and also uses it as a starting material for carnitine, a molecule of fatty-acid metabolism. In structural proteins such as collagen, lysine appears in modified form as hydroxylysine. Because metabolism does not stockpile amino acids, spreading intake across the day comes down to eating habits – not to chance.

Behind the product stands Nutrition-Plus Germany®, one of the better-known plant-based supplement brands in the German-speaking market. The entire range is built around a fully plant-based diet – and lysine sits exactly where a cereal-heavy menu leaves a gap. So this is not a random tin off a shelf, but one that grew out of the same nutritional thinking.

Why does the ingredient list say "hydrochloride"?

L-lysine hydrochloride is the salt form of the amino acid. Pure lysine powder is strongly hygroscopic – it pulls in moisture and clumps together. As a hydrochloride it stays free-flowing, stable and easy to dose precisely into capsules. That is why practically every lysine product on the market uses this form. The figure in the nutrition table refers to the hydrochloride.

What does "limiting amino acid" mean?

The body assembles its own proteins to fixed blueprints. If a single amino acid is missing, assembly stalls – even when every other one is available in abundance. That scarcest amino acid is called the limiting amino acid. In cereal protein it is typically lysine; in pulses it is methionine instead. Combine the two and the profiles balance each other out – the biochemical reason behind the old classic of beans with rice.

💬 Frequently asked questions

  • Who looks at L-lysine in the first place?+
Mainly people eating vegan or largely plant-based, and anyone whose menu leans heavily on cereal products. Cereals are naturally low in lysine. Adults with increased protein needs also tend to look more closely at the amino acid profile of their diet. Food remains the basis – a supplement adds to it.
  • Do I have to take all 4 capsules at once?+
The daily serving is 4 capsules, unchewed with sufficient liquid. Whether you take them together or spread them across the day is up to you, as long as the daily amount is not exceeded. Many people take them with a meal, simply because a glass of water is already on the table.
  • Are the capsules genuinely vegan?+
Yes. With capsules the sticking point is almost always the shell, because many manufacturers use gelatine from beef or pork. Here it is made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, a cellulose derivative of plant origin. There are no further ingredients.
  • How long does one tin last?+
At 4 capsules a day, 120 capsules cover exactly one month – 30 daily servings. If you use it in phases rather than every day, a tin naturally goes further.
  • Does it contain allergens or additives?+
The ingredient list runs to two entries: L-lysine hydrochloride and the capsule shell. Gluten, soy and lactose are not present. No colourings, flavourings, sweeteners or anti-caking agents are added.
  • Can L-lysine be combined with other supplements?+
Amino acids, minerals and coenzymes are commonly taken alongside one another. If you use several supplements, keep an eye on the respective daily amounts. With an existing condition or ongoing medication, a word with your doctor beats trial and error.
