One cartridge that filters and ionises: the main filter S for your carafe S

This is the core cartridge of the Sanuslife ECAIA carafe S. It sits in the upper container, cleans your tap water and raises the pH in a single pass, with no electricity. Available singly or as a 3-pack.

Functional ceramics fired from natural minerals
Alongside the carbon sit ceramics made from natural minerals and metals. They release minerals and ionise the water as it runs through.

Carbon for chlorine, plasticisers and hormones
The activated carbon granules bind chlorine, odours and colours and reduce heavy metals, hormones, plasticisers, pesticides and herbicides. Essential minerals stay in the water.

Out with the hook, logged on the date wheel
Lift the old cartridge out with the carafe S filter hook. When you fit the new one, set today's date on the indicator in the lid.

In the carafe S almost everything depends on this one cartridge. The ceramic valve only controls how fast the water runs. What gets taken out of the water, and what gets added, is down to the main filter S.

Sanuslife gives it two limits: 300 litres or 60 days, whichever comes first. At around five litres a day both arrive together. After that, filter performance drops, and for hygiene reasons the limit applies even if you use little water.

📋 Directions for use

Submerge the new cartridge completely in water for one minute and give it a short shake. Press it into the upper container from above until it sits firmly. Let the first fills run through and pour them away until the water runs clear. Replace after 60 days or 300 litres at the latest and set the date in the filter indicator again.

💬 Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need the booster filter S as well?+
    Only if your water does not reach pH 8.0 to 9.5 with the main filter alone, for example with hard water. The booster screws onto the underside of the main filter and is replaced together with it.
  • Does the main filter S fit the classic ECAIA carafe?+
    No. The classic jug uses its own cartridge with an electronic indicator. The main filter S only fits the carafe S.
  • Is the 3-pack worth it?+
    If you use the carafe S regularly, yes: each cartridge costs less in the 3-pack, and you only reorder twice a year.
  • Why is the water cloudy for the first few fills?+
    New activated carbon releases fine particles at first. That is why you soak the cartridge beforehand and discard the first fills until the water runs clear.
