Pycnogenol® is a patented branded raw material from the Les Landes region in south-west France. The capsules are produced by Kräuterhaus Sanct Bernhard, which has been making natural products in Bad Ditzenbach since 1903.

Why is Pycnogenol® standardised for procyanidins?
The plant-compound content of bark varies naturally. Standardisation means the raw material is set to a defined procyanidin share after extraction. As a result, every batch – and therefore every capsule – contains the same defined amount. That makes the daily intake predictable, unlike non-standardised plant powders.
Where does the extract come from?
Pycnogenol® is obtained from the bark of the French maritime pine (Pinus pinaster), which grows in the Les Landes de Gascogne forest on the Atlantic coast. This bark is the source of the procyanidins, bioflavonoids and other polyphenols that make up the extract.
