Question about item
Black and gold for special occasions
Indigo Frankincense Pontifical is a traditional Arabian frankincense blend: roasted and glazed black and gold with plant colours, styrax and gold bronze. Its scent is sweet, heavy and balsamic.
The name says it all: this frankincense is made for solemn occasions. Its sweet, heavy scent fills the room.
For Pontifical, frankincense (Boswellia sacra) is roasted and partly glazed with plant colours, styrax and real gold bronze, which creates the black and gold grains. The styrax gives the scent its sweet fullness.
Indigo recommends Pontifical for all festive and solemn occasions. It is the darker, heavier sibling of Royal Frankincense and comes in 30 g jars.
Hold the incense charcoal with tongs over a flame to light it and place it on shell sand in a fireproof vessel. Let it glow for about 15 minutes until it is covered with white ash. Then add one or two small grains with an incense spoon. Enjoy the scent as if smelling a flower, do not inhale it. If it starts to smell burnt, lift the remains off with the spoon and smother them in the sand.
