Question about item
Sometimes it takes courage to be gentle
Gentleness (original name: Sanftmut) is a woody-earthy, balsamic-soft incense blend by Indigo with a lemony note. In it, rose and vervain stand for gentleness and courage.
Everyday life often calls for hardness: asserting yourself, deciding quickly, functioning. In the process you sometimes lose sight of how you actually want to treat yourself and others.
In Gentleness, Indigo combines two plants with symbolic power: the rose for gentleness, vervain for courage. The blend is meant as a ritual to bring heart and mind together and to find the courage to stay loving, even when it is hard.
With twelve ingredients, including vervain, liquorice and rosewood oil, Gentleness is a balanced recipe. It is blended by hand in Vienna, as Indigo has done since 1991.
Hold the incense charcoal with tongs over a flame to light it and place it on shell sand in a fireproof vessel. Let it glow for about 15 minutes until it is covered with white ash. Then add 1 to 2 pinches with an incense spoon. Enjoy the scent as if smelling a flower, do not inhale it. If it starts to smell burnt, lift the remains off with the spoon and smother them in the sand.
