Description

Aloe the way it should be – hand-peeled, without the bitter part that doesn't belong in your glass

Espara bottles 100 % direct juice from the inner leaf gel of true aloe (Aloe barbadensis miller) in glass – from certified organic cultivation in Mexico, peeled by hand and entirely free from preservatives.

💧
100 % direct juice, no concentrate
Pure fresh-plant juice from the leaf gel – not reconstituted from powder, with nothing added.
🍃
Peeled by hand
Only the clear inner pulp goes into the juice – the bitter latex layer beneath the rind stays out.
🌱
Organic quality, vegan
Certified organic cultivation, vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free – free from preservatives.
💎
600 mg acemannan per litre
Acemannan (aloverose) is the characteristic long-chain polysaccharide of aloe vera.

Anyone who has ever cut open an aloe leaf knows the two worlds inside it: a yellowish, bitter layer just under the skin – and the clear, gel-like pulp within. That separation is exactly what decides the quality of a juice. At Espara, every leaf is peeled by hand so that only the inner pulp ends up in the bottle.

The juice is a naturally cloudy fresh-plant juice from certified organic cultivation in Mexico. Gentle heating makes it shelf-stable – which replaces the preservatives that are deliberately left out. The plant's signature compound is acemannan, also called aloverose: a long-chain polysaccharide found in this form only in aloe vera. Espara declares 600 mg of it per litre.

The botanically correct species is Aloe barbadensis miller – "true aloe", cultivated since antiquity and still the most widely used species for juice and gel. Espara produces the juice under Austrian food law and bottles it in light-protecting glass.

What is acemannan – and why is everyone talking about the aloverose content?

Acemannan and aloverose are two names for the same compound: a long-chain polysaccharide that, in this form, is characteristic of aloe vera. Because the content can be measured analytically, many buyers use it to compare juices. Espara states 600 mg per litre. It is more heat-stable than many other plant compounds – which is why it survives the gentle heating that keeps the juice shelf-stable without preservatives.

Why "hand-peeled" is more than a nice detail

An aloe leaf has three layers: the green outer skin, a yellowish latex layer just beneath it, and the clear inner pulp. The latex layer contains bitter compounds that have no place in a food. Peeling by hand deliberately recovers only the inner pulp. The result is a mild, naturally cloudy juice made from the part of the plant that matters.

💬 Frequently asked questions

  • How do I take the juice?+
Drink 25 ml (approx. 4 tbsp) twice daily before meals. You can take it neat or mix it with water or fruit juice. Shake well before each use, as the naturally cloudy juice settles.
  • Does the juice contain aloin or bitter compounds?+
The juice is made from the hand-peeled inner pulp. The yellowish latex layer of the rind, where the bitter anthranoids sit, is left out. So it is not a whole-leaf product, but pure inner-leaf juice.
  • What does the juice taste like?+
Mild and naturally cloudy. Because only the inner pulp is used, it lacks the typical bitterness of whole-leaf juices. If it's too plant-like for you neat, simply mix it into water, juice or a smoothie.
  • Why does it need refrigerating after opening?+
The juice contains no preservatives. After opening it therefore belongs in the fridge and should be used within three weeks. Unopened, it is made shelf-stable by gentle heating.
  • Is the juice vegan and suitable for allergy sufferers?+
The juice is vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free and consists of 100 % organic aloe vera direct juice with no additives. If you have known intolerances, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before use.
