Robert Franz Melatonin drops
Dietary supplement with melatonin to shorten the time it takes to fall asleep.
Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone produced in the human body and plays a central role in regulating the sleep-wake cycle. It is synthesized primarily in the pineal gland of the brain and is closely linked to the control of the circadian rhythm, i.e. the body's internal 24-hour clock. Melatonin levels usually rise in the evening, signaling the body that it is time to sleep. The production and release of melatonin is influenced by light; Darkness stimulates production while light inhibits it. This explains why melatonin is often referred to as the "sleep hormone."
- Melatonin helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep.
- Melatonin helps to alleviate the subjective sensation of jet lag if at least 0.5 mg of melatonin is taken on the first day of travel shortly before going to bed and on the first day after arrival at the destination.
