Why this particular herbal combination?
Common lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis) takes its name from the medieval doctrine of signatures — the spotted leaf pattern was thought to resemble lung tissue. Wild marjoram (oregano) and thyme provide essential oils such as thymol and carvacrol. Star anise carries anethole, liquorice root glycyrrhizin.
