Question about item
When your skin feels tight, red and just needs to settle
The CBD VITAL Acute Balm is a rich care formula for irritated and reddened skin – with cannabidiol, marigold, evening primrose oil and vitamin E, now in a refillable glass jar.
Anyone with sensitive skin knows that moment well: something pinches, itches, feels tight – sometimes visibly red, sometimes just plain uncomfortable. In those phases, skin reacts to almost any product, and that's exactly when a quiet, rich formula does more than a perfumed hero product ever could.
That's what this balm is built for. Cannabidiol meets hemp seed oil and evening primrose oil – both known for their gamma-linolenic acid content, which gives the skin fatty acids back. Squalane tops up the skin's natural hydrolipid film, while marigold and rosemary extracts have a long tradition in caring for stressed skin areas. Vitamin E (tocopherol) rounds out the formula as an antioxidant care component.
Behind the recipe stands Vitrasan GmbH in Gleisdorf, Styria – an Austrian manufacturer that develops CBD natural cosmetics in-house. The current version also makes a statement on packaging: less waste, more system. How that works in practice is explained below.
Apply twice daily to problem skin areas.

How does the refillable glass jar work?
A removable 50‑ml refill container sits inside the reusable glass jar. Once empty, you take it out, drop it into the appropriate recycling, and slot in a new refill. The glass jar stays with you. Over several cycles of use, far less material ends up as waste – without changing a thing about the care formula. As the packaging puts it: "Same content, less waste."
Why a rich texture instead of a light lotion?
Dry, irritated or reddened skin usually lacks lipids in its hydrolipid film – not primarily water. A rich balm texture with shea butter, hemp seed oil, evening primrose oil and squalane gives those lipids back. A watery lotion absorbs faster, but rarely fills that gap. For targeted care on hands or feet, the CBD Hand Cream Intensive and the CBD Foot Cream from the Vitrasan range round out the routine.
⚠️ Mandatory notes: For external use only and to be used as intended. For sensitive skin, we recommend testing a small amount on a patch of skin first. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if irritation occurs. Not suitable for pregnant women and children. Keep out of reach of children.
📦 Storage: Store at room temperature.
💬 Frequently asked questions
-
Who is the Acute Balm designed for?+For irritated and reddened skin areas. Typical situations: dry patches on elbows, knees or the back of the hands, skin that tightens up in winter, or specific spots that need extra attention. For very sensitive skin, test on a small area first.
-
Does the balm contain THC?+Cannabidiol (CBD) and THC are two distinct compounds of the hemp plant – CBD itself is not intoxicating. The INCI list shows cannabidiol as the cosmetic active ingredient. The manufacturer does not publish specific THC values on the packaging. The product is classified as a cosmetic, not a food or medicinal product.
-
How does the texture feel on application?+Rich. In the jar the balm sits firm, then warms and softens on contact with the skin and spreads evenly. If you're used to lightweight, fast-absorbing lotions, dose sparingly – a pea-sized amount covers an area the size of a palm.
-
Is the Acute Balm vegan?+No. The formula contains lanolin (from sheep's wool) and beeswax (cera alba) – two animal-derived care components that contribute to the rich consistency and skin tolerance. If you prefer a fully plant-based option, the Vitrasan range includes vegan CBD skincare products.
-
Where is the CBD Acute Balm made?+It's made by Vitrasan GmbH, based in Gleisdorf in Styria, Austria. Development, manufacturing and filling follow the requirements of the EU Cosmetics Regulation. The ECOGEA certification is issued by an external certification body.
-
How long does a 50‑ml jar last?+Used on specific skin areas (elbows, knees, hands), 50 ml typically lasts several weeks – the texture is concentrated and small amounts go a long way. Once the refill runs out, you simply continue with a new refill inside the same glass jar.
