S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine, SAM or SAMe for short, is an amino acid compound that is formed in the body - mainly in the liver - from the amino acid methionine and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and is involved in more than a hundred different internal biochemical processes. SAMe – the active form of methionine – is the most important supplier of methyl groups in cell metabolism.

Why nutritional supplements should be taken
A vegan or vegetarian diet can lead to methionine deficiency because methionine is primarily found in animal products such as fish, meat, eggs and dairy. Plant sources of methionine such as grains, peas, spinach, broccoli, beans and nuts only contain methionine in small amounts and are therefore usually not enough to cover the body's daily needs. The methionine deficiency results in a SAMe deficiency with impaired synthesis of important building blocks of the developing organism.
Our highly pure SAMe powder made from the premium raw material Adonat® is vegan and free of any auxiliary substances and additives. No animal ingredients are used in production and are therefore ideal for vegans and vegetarians. Our SAMe capsules, manufactured in Germany, are of course free of genetic engineering and are produced according to the highest quality standards. The capsule shells are made with HPMC (Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose). HPMC is water-soluble in cellulose (vegetable capsule material).
Recommended consumption
Take 1 capsule daily, preferably before a meal or on an empty stomach with 125 ml of water.
