Question about item
Ubiquinol or ubiquinone: which CoQ10 is actually in your capsule?
Here it is ubiquinol, the reduced form, made from Kaneka's branded ingredient and already dissolved in rapeseed oil.
Your body makes coenzyme Q10 itself. It sits in the mitochondria, where it passes electrons along the respiratory chain, and it constantly switches between ubiquinone and ubiquinol as it does so. Most CoQ10 labels simply say "coenzyme Q10" and leave the form unclear. This one names it: ubiquinol, dissolved in oil and ready to swallow.
Ubiquinol reacts readily with oxygen, which for a long time made it hard to produce in a stable form. Kaneka developed the technology that keeps the reduced form stable, so the Kaneka name on the label tells you where the ubiquinol comes from.
Take 1 capsule daily with a glass of water (250 ml) and swallow.

💬 Frequently asked questions
-
Why pay more for ubiquinol than for regular CoQ10?+Both are coenzyme Q10, and the body converts one into the other. Ubiquinol is simply harder to make and to keep stable, because it reacts with oxygen. That extra processing is what you pay for.
-
Why is the softgel dark brown?+The colour comes from plain caramel, a colouring listed among the ingredients. The shell itself is made from modified maize starch, glycerol and carrageenan.
-
Is it suitable for vegans?+No. The shell contains no gelatine, but the glazing agent is beeswax, which is an animal product.
-
Does it contain soy?+Yes, soy lecithin is used as an emulsifier, so soy is highlighted as an allergen in the ingredient list.
-
When should I take it?+The directions don't specify a time of day: swallow one softgel with a large glass of water. The ubiquinol inside is already dissolved in rapeseed oil.
-
Why is there no %NRV?+The EU has not set a nutrient reference value for coenzyme Q10. It isn't classed as a vitamin because the body produces it itself.
