Why are the amino acids in free, crystalline form?
In classic dietary protein, the amino acids are linked into long chains. In MAP they are already present individually and unbound – the purest form amino acids can be made, with no carriers and no hydrolysis. The crystalline form is also remarkably heat-stable.

Does MAP help with building muscle?+
Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass – that's the nutrient-related connection. MAP supplies the eight essential amino acids for it in concentrated form. How much muscle mass actually builds depends not on protein intake alone, but also on training, sleep and calorie balance.

What if I find the tablets hard to swallow?+
You can split them into smaller pieces or grind them to powder in a mortar. The powder stirs into yoghurt, smoothies or muesli. Working it into home-made muesli bars or bread rolls works too – the crystalline amino acids are heat-stable.

What does MAP taste like?+
Pure amino acids have a slightly bitter taste of their own – typical of the free crystalline form. With a glass of water the tablets are swallowed in seconds. If you're more sensitive to it, crush the daily portion and stir it into yoghurt or a smoothie.

When in the day is best to take MAP?+
There's no time of day you have to stick to. The daily portion can be taken all at once or spread across the day – on an empty stomach or with a meal, as you prefer.

Why is MAP more expensive than ordinary protein powder?+
Producing free crystalline amino acids is more involved than hydrolysing protein, and there are only a few suppliers worldwide at this purity. In return, a small daily portion of a few grams is enough.

What sets MAP apart from a BCAA supplement?+
BCAA (branched-chain amino acids) is the collective term for three branched-chain amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. MAP additionally contains the other five essential amino acids – lysine, phenylalanine, threonine, methionine and tryptophan. In principle all eight are needed to form the body's own proteins.
