Question about item
Fluoride does the enamel work. Propolis, sage and arnica are there for the gums.
Many propolis toothpastes leave fluoride out. This one from Kräuterhaus keeps it in and adds bee resin extract, sage and arnica for everyday care of teeth and gums.
Pick up a propolis toothpaste in a health shop and the odds are it is fluoride-free. That suits some people and worries others, especially parents and anyone whose dentist has asked them to stick with fluoride. Kräuterhaus took a different route: a herbal formula built on a conventional fluoride base, so you do not have to choose between the two.
The cleaning itself is done by dicalcium phosphate and silica as polishing agents, with sodium lauryl sulfoacetate as the mild foaming agent. Allantoin adds to the gum care, spearmint oil gives the fresh taste and saccharin provides sweetness without sugar. The toothpaste is made in Germany and carries the full INCI declaration, fluoride content and age note on the tube.
Propolis toothpaste for the care of teeth and gums. For adults and children from the age of 6. Do not use if you are allergic to plants of the daisy family (Asteraceae).

Is this the right one if I want to avoid fluoride?
No. This is the fluoride version of the Kräuterhaus herbal toothpastes, alongside the Aloe Vera and Ginseng variants, which use the same base. If you are deliberately looking for a fluoride-free option, the Manuka toothpaste from the same range is formulated without fluoride and with xylitol instead. The propolis version is the only one of the four with propolis and the only one with arnica.
⚠️ Mandatory information: For adults and children from the age of 6. Do not use if allergic to plants of the daisy family (Asteraceae). Contains sodium monofluorophosphate (1450 ppm).
💬 Frequently asked questions
-
Can children use it?+From the age of six, yes. Below that, a children's toothpaste with a lower fluoride content is the usual choice, because the 1450 ppm in this tube is the adult level.
-
What does the daisy-family warning mean in practice?+Arnica is a member of the Asteraceae, the same family as chamomile, marigold and ragweed. If you know you react to these plants, choose a different toothpaste. The Aloe Vera and Ginseng versions from Kräuterhaus contain no arnica.
-
Is it vegan?+No. Propolis is made by honeybees, so the toothpaste is not vegan by definition.
-
Does it taste of propolis or honey?+The flavour comes from spearmint and sage oil. There is no honey in the formula, and sweetness comes from saccharin rather than sugar.
-
Which foaming agent is used?+Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, a mild surfactant that is often chosen for herbal toothpastes.
