Solid ground beneath your feet
Root Chakra (original name: Wurzel Chakra) is an earthy, warm and sweet-spicy incense blend from Indigo's Chakra series. It is dedicated to the first chakra, which in chakra teaching stands for rootedness and stability.
A move, a new job, a year in which everything happens at once: sometimes it feels as if the ground is being pulled from under your feet. Then you long for something solid, for a hold.
In Indian chakra teaching the root chakra at the base of the spine stands for exactly this theme: rootedness, security and saying yes to earthly life. Indigo links it with the love and patience of “Mother Earth”. The blend is meant as a ritual to ground yourself consciously in a quiet minute.
With eighteen ingredients, including oak bark, dragon's blood and vetiver oil, Root Chakra is one of the most complex Indigo recipes. It is blended by hand in Vienna, as Indigo has done since 1991.
Hold the incense charcoal with tongs over a flame to light it and place it on shell sand in a fireproof vessel. Let it glow for about 15 minutes until it is covered with white ash. Then add 1 to 2 pinches with an incense spoon. Enjoy the scent as if smelling a flower, do not inhale it. If it starts to smell burnt, lift the remains off with the spoon and smother them in the sand.
