The colored indicator liquid can be used to quickly and easily determine the pH value of water and some other transparent liquids. To do this, add 2-3 drops of the indicator liquid to the aqueous solution whose pH value you would like to measure. The addition of the drops results in a color change. The pH value can be determined using the enclosed pH scale. Light red is strongly acidic. Light violet is strongly alkaline. In terms of accuracy, this type of measurement is absolutely sufficient for domestic use.
By the way
The abbreviation "pH" is derived from the Neo-Latin "potentia Hydrogenii", which means "concentration of hydrogen". The pH value can range from 0 (extremely acidic) to 14 (very alkaline). The following applies:
- pH value < 7 = acidic
- pH value = 7 = neutral
- pH value > 7 = alkaline (basic)
Important notes
The pH indicator liquid must NOT be ingested. Neither pure nor diluted. It is strongly recommended to keep the liquid safely away from children.
The pH value of alkaline water cannot be measured with conventional pH indicator paper!
The scope of delivery includes an indicator liquid and a color scale with the different pH values.
