Base Klamath combines potassium hydrogen carbonate, calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate with two algae. The daily dose provides 300 mg potassium, 150 mg calcium and 80 mg magnesium. Magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance, calcium to the maintenance of normal bones and potassium to the normal function of the nervous system.

What is AFA algae?

AFA stands for Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, a blue-green freshwater alga. It is harvested mainly in Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon, hence the name Klamath algae. Unlike spirulina it grows wild rather than in cultivation ponds.
