Question about item
Six plants, distilled in a tradition that reaches back to the 16th century
Espara distils six plants — nettle, lobelia, ground ivy, American spikenard and two more — using a method that goes back to Paracelsus. The result: a 30 ml dropper bottle at 16 % vol.
There are weeks in the year when birches shed their pollen and grass blooms. Add the household dust that always lingers somewhere, plus the cat or dog hair — and many homes feel different. People in such phases often turn to the plant companions their grandparents already knew.
The Anti-Pollen Essence brings six of those plants together in one alcoholic composition. Nettle and American spikenard form the backbone — joined by ephedra and motherwort, with smaller amounts of ground ivy and lobelia. Each plant is distilled on its own and then merged into the finished essence at the end.
Behind the method stands the work of the Swiss physician Paracelsus from the 16th century. He described plants as a trinity — body, spirit and soul. Separate, process each part, reunite: that is the principle. Espara has been working along these lines for decades.
Take 15 drops twice daily before meals — either directly under the tongue or in a little water.

What are alchemical essences in the Paracelsus tradition?
Paracelsus (1493–1541) did not understand alchemy as gold-making, but as a method for producing effective plant preparations. His idea: a plant has — in his words — body, spirit and soul. These three parts are separated during production, processed individually and then brought back together. The result is an aromatic, alcoholic liquid that, according to Paracelsus, addresses the human being holistically. 💬 Frequently asked questions
-
How do I take the essence?+Take 15 drops twice daily before meals — either directly under the tongue or in a little water. Sublingual use is the traditional Paracelsus form; the water variant works just as well.
-
Does it taste of alcohol?+Yes — at 16 % vol., the alcohol content is roughly on a par with wine. Per dose, that translates to only a few drops of pure alcohol. The flavour is herbal and slightly bitter, carried by nettle and spikenard. If you'd like to mellow the alcohol, take the drops in a glass of water.
-
How long does a 30 ml bottle last?+At the recommended daily dose (2 × 15 drops, around 30 drops in total), a bottle lasts roughly 25 to 30 days depending on the size of the pipette droplets.
-
What's the difference between alchemical essences, spagyrics and Bach flowers?+Spagyrics and alchemical essences in the Paracelsus tradition belong to the same family — both separate the plant into its parts and bring them back together. Bach flowers, by contrast, are potentised water extracts without distillation. The Espara range stands in the Paracelsian-spagyric tradition.
-
Which Espara products are often paired with this essence?+From the wider Espara range, many customers add Espara Organic Black Cumin Oil 70 caps and Espara MSM 50 caps alongside the Anti-Pollen Essence. Both are stand-alone products with different forms and contents — they don't replace the essence, but sit comfortably in the same thematic family.
-
Who is Espara?+Espara is a producer specialising in alchemical essences, tinctures and food supplements rooted in the Paracelsian-spagyric tradition. The range stands in the line of classical European herbal craft.
