Question about item
Get your omega-3 – no fish, no fishy burps, no guilty conscience
DHA and EPA usually come almost exclusively from oily fish. These vegan capsules take both fatty acids straight from the microalgae – the very source the fish gets its omega-3 from in the first place.
If you skip fish, omega-3 becomes tricky: plant sources such as linseed oil mainly provide ALA, and the body converts only a small share of that into the DHA and EPA you actually want. A direct source solves exactly that.
Algae produce DHA and EPA themselves – fish only pick them up through their diet. The oil here is obtained from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. and filled into a vegan softgel. Chemically the fatty acids are the same as in fish oil, and the body absorbs them comparably. Two capsules a day cover the serving.
The product is developed and filled in Germany to IFS Food and GMP standards. Every batch goes through independent laboratory testing for heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury and arsenic, plus a microbiological analysis – the results stay within the legal maximum levels.
Take 2 capsules daily, unchewed, with sufficient liquid.

Why algae oil is the original omega-3 source
Wild fish do not produce DHA and EPA themselves. They take the fatty acids in via algae and smaller marine organisms that feed on algae. With algae oil you skip that detour and go straight to the start of the food chain. That spares fish stocks – and keeps the capsule free of contaminants that can otherwise accumulate in fish.
DHA, EPA and vitamin E – who does what
DHA makes up the larger share at 600 mg and is the fatty acid that contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision. EPA adds 300 mg; together the two contribute to the normal function of the heart. The beneficial effect on brain and vision is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg DHA, and on the heart with 250 mg EPA and DHA – amounts that two capsules clearly exceed. The added vitamin E plays a double role: it contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and at the same time keeps the polyunsaturated oil from going rancid.

💬 Frequently asked questions
-
What is the difference between vegan algae omega-3 and fish oil?+DHA and EPA are chemically identical, whether from algae or fish. The difference is the origin: the algae oil comes from cultivated microalgae, so no fishing is involved. The body absorbs it comparably to fish oil.
-
Do the capsules taste or smell of fish?+Because we use no flavourings or sweeteners, the algae oil can smell faintly of the sea on opening and taste slightly of algae. That is a natural feature of the pure oil. The unpleasant burping some people get from fish oil does not occur.
-
When should I take the capsules?+Ideally with a meal, since fatty acids are absorbed well alongside some dietary fat. Morning or evening makes no difference – what matters is taking the 2 capsules consistently every day.
-
Who are the capsules suitable for?+For vegans and vegetarians, for people with a fish allergy, and for anyone who prefers a plant-based omega-3 source. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should check with a doctor first.
-
How long does one tin last?+120 capsules at 2 per day give you 60 daily servings – roughly two months.
-
Are the capsules tested for contaminants?+Yes. Every batch is tested in an independent German laboratory for heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury and arsenic, as well as microbiologically. The values stay within the legally defined maximum levels.
