Question about item
Learn dowsing tests without years of practice – that is what this rod was calculated for
The Körbler universal rod is the classic working instrument for radiesthetic reference tests – a one-hand rod that is deliberately kept simple.
Three magnesium products on the shelf, five kinds of tea in the kitchen cupboard – and the question where to start. Anyone working radiesthetically wants an indicator instrument for such everyday questions: quick to grab, no long training required.
That is exactly what a one-hand rod does: you hold the handle loosely, the highly flexible rod amplifies the smallest movement impulses of your hand, and the wooden ball gives the swing direction and rhythm. In radiesthesia, these deflections are read as answers to reference questions – for example when testing a food item held in your free hand.
Behind the rod stands Erich Körbler, the Viennese electrical engineer and life-energy researcher who founded New Homeopathy in the 1980s and published his testing methods in the journal raum&zeit. His universal rod became the standard instrument of this method – and is still made to his concept today.
Hold the rod loosely by the handle with one hand so the rod can swing freely. Keep a relaxed posture and calm breathing. For reference tests, hold the test object in your free hand or place it in front of you and observe the deflection.

Universal rod or Profi rod – which one suits you?
The universal rod relies on maximum flexibility – that makes it sensitive and beginner-friendly. However, around 10 to 15 percent of testers have a very strong rod deflection that puts heavy strain on the flexible rod over time. For this group there is the reinforced Körbler Profi rod with a fibreglass shaft, reinforced exit point and larger wooden ball. If you already know your rod swings hard, the Profi rod is the right choice.
⚠️ Important notes: Working with one-hand rods is an alternative, energetic method. Its effectiveness is not proven from the perspective of mainstream science. Test results are no substitute for medical diagnosis, advice or treatment.
📦 Care & storage: Store in a dry place. Do not bend the rod beyond its natural swing and protect it from hard knocks.
💬 Frequently asked questions
-
What can I test with the universal rod?+Typical uses are radiesthetic reference tests of foods, food supplements and Bach flowers. The results are complementary information within an energetic method – not a basis for health decisions.
-
Can the rod break?+The rod is deliberately highly flexible and withstands normal testing work. With a very strong rod deflection, however, the constant strain can become too much – the reinforced Körbler Profi rod was developed for this user group. Also avoid bending the rod beyond its natural swing.
-
How quickly will I learn to work with it?+The basic posture is learned in a short time. Repeatable, clean test routines take practice – seminars on New Homeopathy help you develop a clear testing system.
-
Why does my rod look different in colour from the photo?+Handle and collar are made in changing colour combinations. Your delivery may therefore differ from the product photo – function and construction are always the same.
-
Is the effect scientifically proven?+No. Working with one-hand rods is an alternative, energetic method whose effectiveness is not scientifically proven. Use the rod as a complementary instrument and consult doctors for health questions.
