anatis Papaya Leaf TeaHerbal tea - Papaya leaf shredded
Papaya leaves are known for their enzymes like papain, a protein-deconstructing enzyme. It is made up of more than 200 amino acids and is mainly extracted from the milk juice of the tropical papaya plant, from the green parts such as the still immature fruits, but especially from leaves and stems. The ripe papaya fruit, on the other hand, contains very little papain. The application as papaya leaf tea, slightly brewed or also heavily cooked, is tradition among indigenous peoples such as the Aboriginal, although the papaya plant only reached Australia in the 17th century.
Pour 3 tablespoons (12 g) papaya leaf with 1 liter of boiling water and let it go overnight or simmer the same amount of tea with 1 liter of water for half an hour. Drink one or more cups of tea every day.
