Question about item
Protein building blocks – without steak, without shake, without long digestion
Built on the MAP formula by Prof. Dr. Maurizio Lucà-Moretti: eight essential amino acids in pure, crystalline form, pressed into 120 tablets of 1 g each. Made for athletes, active adults and anyone with increased protein needs.
An active lifestyle, less meat, getting older – some life stages turn daily protein into a real challenge. A big steak doesn't fit every lunch, a whey shake doesn't suit every routine. And of the protein we eat, only a fraction reaches where the body actually uses it – the digestive tract first has to work for hours to break a protein molecule into individual amino acids.
MAP takes the opposite route. Instead of supplying a whole protein molecule the body first has to break down, the building blocks come pre-separated – free and crystalline, in the purest form amino acids can be produced. These are the exact eight building blocks the body uses to assemble muscle proteins, enzymes, bone tissue and antibodies.
Behind the formula stands a researcher who devoted his working life to nitrogen balance: Prof. Dr. Maurizio Lucà-Moretti at the International Nutrition Research Center. The formula has been patent-protected since the early 1990s – with nitrogen utilisation as the central measurement. The same composition continues to be distributed across Europe today by INRC Europe Ltd.
Take 5–9 tablets daily as needed, with a glass of water.

Why does digestion take only around 23 minutes?
The real effort in protein digestion lies in breaking down long amino-acid chains: stomach acid, pepsin, trypsin and further enzymes work together until a protein molecule becomes individual amino acids. That takes three to six hours on average. With free crystalline amino acids, this step is skipped entirely. The building blocks only need to be absorbed – which shortens processing time to about 23 minutes.
What does "99% NNU" actually mean?
NNU stands for Net Nitrogen Utilisation. The figure shows what share of the ingested nitrogen the body uses to build its own proteins. Anything not used is excreted as urea through the kidneys. Classic dietary protein averages around 32%, protein powders often less.
⚠️ Mandatory information: Keep out of reach of young children. Not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.

💬 Frequently asked questions
-
Does MAP help with muscle building?+Amino acids are the building blocks the body uses to build muscle proteins. Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass – a scientifically recognised connection. MAP delivers the eight essential amino acids in concentrated form. How much muscle mass actually builds, however, depends not only on protein intake but also on training, sleep and overall calorie balance.
-
What if I find the tablets hard to swallow?+You can break them into smaller pieces or grind them to powder with a mortar. The powder stirs easily into yoghurt, smoothies or muesli. Working it into homemade muesli bars or bread rolls also works – the crystalline amino acids are heat-stable.
-
What does MAP taste like?+Pure amino acids carry a slightly bitter taste of their own – typical for the free crystalline form. With a glass of water, the tablets are down in seconds and the taste question is settled. Anyone more sensitive can crush the daily dose and stir it into yoghurt or a smoothie.
-
When during the day is best to take MAP?+There is no fixed time of day. The daily 5 to 9 tablets can be taken all at once or spread across the day – on an empty stomach or with a meal, depending on preference. Athletes often take MAP before training; in everyday use, splitting across two or three meals also works.
-
How does MAP differ from a BCAA supplement?+BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids) is the umbrella term for three branched-chain amino acids: leucine, isoleucine and valine. MAP additionally contains the other five essential amino acids – lysine, phenylalanine, threonine, methionine and tryptophan. All eight are needed for the body to build its own proteins.
